7 OCTOBER 2011
A lengthy tender process resulted in the University of Sheffield appointing MCR Systems as their chosen EPoS and Cashless Payment provider.
31 J2630 terminals have replaced the existing Counter Solution system providing EPoS and cashless payment including web loaded funds for staff and students. As with many Universities, Sheffield will be making use of the existing Web Page Marketing (WPM) portal used widely across the University for all online payments. This interface between WPM and the cashless payment system is live in numerous University sites across the United Kingdom saving each University considerable amounts of money in transaction charges.
The terminals have been installed across the bars, halls of residence catering and conference facilities, with multiple catered student packages being managed by the Metro Symphony cashless payment software.
A secondary phase involves the implementation of the latest offer from Commidea the Vx820 with contactless payment capability.
The Client and Consultants involved in the procurement process commented that MCR can demonstrate an unrivalled position in the University Sector and could prove a positive value for money offering.
