MCR Systems has announced the launch of SymPOS, the latest and eagerly awaited addition to its Symphony suite of electronic point of sale products. Aimed at the hospitality industry, the main advantages of SymPOS are that it is feature-rich, easy to operate and – as the hospitality industry has come to expect of MCR – totally reliable.
The system is designed to eliminate error and is eminently flexible; operators can configure the display to suit their circumstances: it can accommodate left-handed staff and the size and placement of its touch-screen controls can be set to individual preferences.
The functionality of SymPOS delivers benefits to hospitality businesses and their customers, too: on-screen options ensure that customers’ selections and cooking preferences are communicated accurately to the back of house, minimizing the opportunity for error whilst maximizing opportunities to ‘sell up’. Because transactions can float between terminals, customers are not restricted to returning to one particular till when they wish to add to their orders or settle their bills.
MCR says that this will mean ‘more people spending, less people waiting’.
‘SymPOS represents a genuine leap forward on EPOS technology’, said Sales Director, Matthew Gatter. ‘The flexibility built in to the software means that the system is suitable for a wide variety of markets and operational styles. For instance, SymPOS differentiates between eat-in and take-away with its automatic VAT shift. It can accommodate sales of the same products at multiple price levels, it can split billing when friends eat together and it has a stock countdown so our customers won’t lose sales by running out of menu items.
‘Furthermore, it can accept multiple currencies and it is capable of running intelligent promotions’.
Added to this, SymPOS continues the Symphony tradition by incorporating a number of functions designed to safeguard against theft and fraud.
