6 JUNE 2011
Following the successful completion of the Pilot Site at RAF Leuchars in mid-May 2011, Phase 1 of the ISS RAF Deployment has now been completed. This phase of the project has involved the preparation, installation and commissioning of 60 x SymPOS tills, 19 x Chip & PIN units and 14 x Kitchen Printers across 11 RAF Bases and 31 trading outlets
All of these outlets/tills were installed and went live on one day: 1st June 2011.
The result.......
a resounding success.
Feedback from ISS UK:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank...the MCR Team for all (the) hard work throughout the planning and critical deployment phase of the RAF contract. The support from MCR, both on- and off-site, has been exceptional and the transition of outlets during this phase of the deployment has passed with very few issues, resulting in a contented client. Thanks to one and all for your efforts.”
Jerry Howells, Saffron & EPoS Project Manager, ISS Facilities Services: Healthcare, Education and Defence
Phase 2 of the project is the rollout of the “Pay As You Dine” program to all the RAF bases over the next 6 months, starting in July and will see additional tills installed which will take the total number of tills deployed throughout the ISS Defence estate to 184.
Phase 3 is the introduction of Symphony Loyalty to all ISS RAF SymPOS tills (this also includes tills within SPAR shops). Symphony Loyalty is a contactless loyalty card solution with each till having a USB Contactless Card Reader attached to it allowing loyalty points to be earned and spent at any outlet in real-time. “Go-Live” is scheduled for August-September 2011 when ISS will be distributing 80,000 loyalty cards to RAF personnel, dependents and civilian contractors.
