Gloucestershire College select Metro Symphony

The management team at this multi site operation had identified the need for an integrated EPoS, stock management and cashless payment system.  The key drivers for the investment included;

  • Opportunities to increase revenue per customer
  • Effective management and control
  • Increase sales volume
  • Improve margins
  • Reduce administrative costs
  • Improve customer experience
  • Implementation of a single card platform
  • Real time data

A number of relevant companies tendered for the contract, with MCR Systems providing the best solution fit. Gloucestershire College chose Metro Symphony a web hosted Management and Reporting system which provides comprehensive back office functionality to centrally control all programme, product and pricing, stock management and cashless payments whilst providing extensive sales and security reporting including real time information and monitoring.

The college are in the process of implementing a new ID system for both staff and students using Mifare technology which is intended to be used for electronic systems where relevant including a cashless payment system, car park entry, printing and copying with further system development in the future.

15 PC-based SymPOS terminals with Mifare card readers are being installed across six sites with central control of products, prices and full stock management.
