Symphony - Architecture |
|
|
Operating Systems
Symphony reporting is made up of 3 core components. All components have been designed
to work on the current family of Microsoft Windows operating systems, and where
possible has been aligned with the impending release of Windows Vista – Microsoft’s
forthcoming next generation 64Bit operating systems.
Connectivity
Symphony reporting is fully integrated into the Uniwell range of EPoS management
systems, using industry standard methodologies to transport data across the network
(XML over TCP/IP or MSMQ for resilient data messaging). All reporting functionality
is accessible from any selected device connected to the Symphony reporting network.
Software as a Service
Symphony is available as either an outright product purchase or as a hosted subscription
solution. More and more organisations are opting to use hosting and software subscription
over outright purchase whist still obtaining the same benefits derived from commercially
licensed, internally operated software without the associated complexity, skill
set and high initial cost on capital expenditure.
Server
Symphony reporting server is based around Microsoft SQL server, and SQL reporting
services, the components are designed to be scalable to allow for single site deployment
on Windows XP (limited functionality) or large scale multi site or hosted deployments
on the Windows 2003 Server range.
Data Collection Agents
Symphony reporting data collection agents are deployed alongside the Uniwell back
office tools (EPOS Office / EPOS MS / EPOS HQ) each component collects information
and relays it to the symphony server in a open technology format.
Reporting Client
Symphony Reporting Client is a smart client application designed to run on any of
the current family of Microsoft desktop operating systems. Standard reporting functionality
includes the ability to analyse, save, print and export reports to a range of formats
including Microsoft Excel; PDF etc. |
